Everyone knows working can be miserable, but it turns out the career you choose could have a real impact on your mental health.
A study published on NCBI titled, "Prevalence rates for depression by industry" has analysed which jobs make people the most miserable. Unsurprisingly those in the service industry or in customer service aren't going great for your serotonin levels. Other jobs with poor satisfaction were industries which "require frequent or difficult interactions with the public or clients".
The study supports "...the theory that the stress of emotional labour could contribute to depression." Basically: avoid dealing with other people's shit if you want a happy life. Here are the jobs with the highest depression rates:
