Whether it's for your aunt sending endless pictures of her son dressed as a minion or the Ibiza 2009 lads that can't let go of that magic holiday, chances are you're in a Whataspp group. 

What is even more likely is that the shine of being able to communicate together has worn off slightly and now you feel hounded to reply and have top notch bantz constantly ready to go.

Bad news today, then, in that Whatsapp is introducing a tagging feature which means it will be pretty much impossible to ignore your group chats -  even if you have conversations muted.

The tagging feature works by using the @ symbol to generate contacts much like on Twitter or Instagram and you can tag multiple people in each message. 

In theory you can direct messages only to the people needed to be involved, but we can all imagine how much pointless unlocking of your phone will occur.
