The deep red slip of paper from Royal Mail is one of life's more disappointing sights. The opposite of a letter from Hogwarts, instead this means you'll be trying to collect your parcel between 10am and 4pm for the next 11 days.
To curb this disappointment Royal Mail have come up with some inventive 'safe places' to leave your packages, none more inventive than the latest.
A delivery of printer ink to Sam Cooke in Manchester was delivered directly into his toilet with an embarrassed note from postman about how he had tried to slip the package through the window, only for it to fall into the loo.
The note read: ""Put through window" and "I'm really sorry I think your parcel might have fallen in the toilet accidentally".
Sam tweeted an image of the note and one of the printer ink sitting nicely in the toilet with the caption "Well this happened today", which has since had 7,600 retweets.
Royal Mail responded to his message apologising and and promising to follow up.
And the story even has a happy ending. This may be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
