Elon Musk, the man determined to get us to Mars, reduce global warming and get us all in strange looking transportation has unveiled his latest project in the form of an underground car.
The design images released by his Boring Company would be used beneath the ground of cities infrastructures to offer speedy travel and reduce traffic. The vehicles are more bus-like in capacity with the mock-ups showing they could house between five and ten people and have room for people to stand, sit on benches or take their bikes on board. They also feature sleek curved edges and glass paneling.
High Snobiety reports that the vehicles will be, "Propelled by an electric motor and outfitted with electric sleds underneath that take the form of a flat plate on wheels" and reach "speeds of 125 mph in urban settings allow a passenger to travel between New York and Washington, D.C. in only under 30 minutes."
They added: "Musk hopes to add a vacuum shell to the electric sled, where the vehicles could transform into hyperloop pods, traveling at 600+ miles an hour — thus offering a seamless and easy transportation between cities in record time."
Last month The Boring Company released a video showcasing their ideas for an underground transit network which these vehicles would use beneath ground-level.
