With Netflix's third season of Narcos dealing with the fallout following Pablo Escobar's death in Colombia, the story is reportedly set to move to Mexico to focus on the Juárez drug cartel for season four.
Sadly, tragedy has struck during pre-production, with the body of location manager, Carlos Muñoz Portal, 37, being recovered on Saturday in Central Mexico.
Muñoz is said to have driven to the location to take photographs for the show on Monday. Initial reports suggest his body was found in his car, having been shot to death.
Netflix confirmed Muñoz' death with the following statement: "We are aware of the death of Carlos Muñoz Portal, a respected location manager, and offer our condolences to his relatives. The facts are still unknown as authorities continue to investigate what happened."
Muñoz had worked on a number of US films and television shows, including Apocalypto, Man On Fire, and the fourth film of the Fast and Furious franchise.
