Whilst everything else has gone to shit at least we've got our health right? Wrong, according to a report from the European Commission and the OECD which has found the UK has the highest percentage of cocaine users and gonorrhea suffers amongst young adults our of all European countries.
An average of 1.9 per cent of 15 to 34 reported using cocaine in the last year in Europe, this leapt to 4.2 per cent for young adults in the UK.
"Cocaine is the most commonly used illicit stimulant in Europe," according to the study, "The percentage of young adults consuming cocaine is highest in the United Kingdom, Spain and the Netherlands with 3 per cent or more of young adults having used cocaine at least once in the last year." Forget the Euros, this is the one everyone really wants to win.
Another uplifting part of the survey found that in 2014 the UK had the highest rate of gonorrhea with 60 out of 100,000 people carrying the STI. This is three times the European average of 20 per 100,000.
So we're winning on the sex and coke front, we should probably give ourselves the rest of the year off.
