Whether it's a good thing or not, internet porn is where most of us get our first glimpse of sex. This means for many it serves as the source of all sexual education, informing beliefs about what sex is and how it should work.

So needless to say, this is good news.

As a huge player in the online porn industry Pornhub has decided to take some responsibility and start a formal sexual education sub-site. Yesterday the Canadian 'entertainment' site announced they are launching the "Pornhub Sexual Health Center."

The aim of the sub-site is to build a resource for their 70 million daily users on topics, including STIs, sexual safety, transgender issues, how to manage relationships and consent. Running the project will be Dr. Laurie Betito, a clinical psychologist who specialises in sex therapy and has over three decades of experience, and includes a variety of contributors with expertise in the field.

Users will also be able to contact Dr Laurie directly with comments and questions, giving them a safe anonymous place to seek professional guidance and information.

Pornhub's Vice President Corey Price commented that: "We understand the importance of educating the general public on a wide range of topics pertaining to sexual health and awareness, and saw an opportunity to deliver knowledge and understanding through renowned doctors and experts."

Impressive display of social responsibility from Pornhub we must say.
