Science has decided that the length of your fingers may determine just how good you are between the sheets.

Studies taken place in London and Turkey suggest that those with ring fingers - that's the one next to your middle finger nearest you smallest finger - that are the same size or shorter than their index finger (the middle one) last longer in bed. But men with a longer ring finger are likely to struggle.

The findings may go some way to explaining why premature ejaculation is so common, affecting up to one in three men at some point in their lives.

Dr David Goldmeier at Imperial College London found the more testosterone a baby boy comes into contact with in the womb, the longer his ring finger will be compared to his index finger in adulthood.

He then explained that high levels of testosterone exposure could harm brain receptors that control ejaculation.

Previous research suggested premature ejaculation could be put down to genetic factors or rushed early sexual experiences.

In another study, Turkish scientists tested 65 men with a history of premature ejaculation and compared them with the same number that did not suffer from the same issues.

Speaking to The Sun, they said: "Foetal hormone exposure may be a new risk factor for lifelong premature ejaculation."

Most premature ejaculation sufferers last a minute or less during sex; while those not affected average five to seven minutes.
