Luckily, there is a study. There's always a study. Some research that will guide you to the acceptable spending parameters and ensure you aren't single on 26 December.

According to research from Showerstoyou.co.uk (not going to ask why a shower company dictate Christmas present law), 39% of women surveyed expect their partner to spend between £100 and £150 on gifts, beating out other spending brackets.

Things got sadder as as the study found 80% of Brits have used or worn a present they disliked to avoid hurting their partner's feelings and 64% have given a present from their partner to a charity shop.
