David Beckham has got tattoos of a different kind in a new campaign to help end violence against children for Unicef.

In a sobering video for the charity, the footballing legend and Goodwill Ambassador highlights the urgent need to end violence against children around the world.

"Violence against children marks them forever. It's wrong - end it," he says.

Raising awareness of the indelible mark abuse leaves on children, Unicef wrote: "David's own tattoos were marks chosen to represent happy or important memories,

"Millions of children bear marks of physical, emotional or sexual abuse that they have not chosen."

This isn't the only charitable cause Beckham has shown his support for. He recently shared a video of himself doing push-ups in honour of the 22 service personnel who die by suicide every day while suffering with PTSD after returning from deployment.

Supporting the veterans' mental health charity Combat Stress, David said: "I've been to Afghanistan.

"I've seen the courage of our troops, and if there's anything I can do to raise awareness to the situation, I can."
