It's that time of the year again: SIHH preview time! If you're not familiar, SIHH is the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie, an annual invite-only trade show in Geneva, hosted by the Richemont Group in collaboration with several independent companies. If Basel World is the equivalent of Paris Fashion week, this is Milan, where only real connoisseurs spend their time.

The re-edition of the original Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding Chronograph.

SHOP ROYAL OAK OFFSHORE COLLECTION

In anticipation of the 2018 show, which runs from 15-19 January, Audemars Piguet announced an update to the Royal Oak Offshore. The Offshore is the rugged brother of the acclaimed Royal Oak, and has spent the past quarter-century making appearances on the wrists athletes, actors, and more (including LeBron James, Jay Z, and Ed Sheeran). It's a watch for ballers with clout levels in the heavens.

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore will be celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2018, and AP decided to give it a truly impressive update. The Swiss watchmaker is presenting three new versions of the iconic sports watch: a re-edition of the original Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding Chronograph; and a brand-new, limited edition, Royal Oak Offshore Tourbillon Chronograph, with a contemporary dial design that was developed in two versions.

First up, the re-edition of the 1993 Royal Oak Offshore. Just like its predecessor, the classic blue "tapissierie" dial is a stunner. This is how re-editions need to happen.

The Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph Tourbillon in 18k pink gold.

AP loves to show how much it's been innovating the past 25 years, and decided to flex those muscles with the Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph Tourbillon. One in 18k pink gold the other in steel, these mechanical marvels feature incredible open-worked dials with ceramic pushers and crowns powered by the hand-wound Caliber 2947. Each one is limited to just 50 pieces.

AP said this is just their pre-SIHH announcement. We can't wait for what else the company has up its sleeve for the main event.
