Want List | Victorinox Backpack

Victorinox’s new ‘Parka Bag’ holds its own on two fronts - a coat that thinks it's a backpack.

We’ve had our eye on young British designer Christopher Raeburn for some time now. After storming onto the scene in 2008 with his hi-tech windbreakers, he won the Emerging Talent prize at this year’s British Fashion Awards. Now he’s revealed “Protect”, his second capsule collection for Victorinox, designed with the Swiss brand’s functional identity in mind.

It features a range of innovative, super-high spec cagoules, bombers and bags, all emblazoned with a camouflage pattern inspired by the famous Victorinox shield. Our favourite piece is this, the brilliant “Parka Bag”, which transforms from a backpack into an overcoat in four swift moves. Perfect, then, for the British winter. Or summer, for that matter.

The designer speaks:

“I took inspiration from a vintage Swiss military jacket, described as ‘the Swiss Army knife of jackets’ — it’s characterised by loads of pockets, details, features and added surprises. It was a good place to begin the creative process.” Christopher Raeburn
