Dressing up for no reason? You'll need something that's smarter than a regular jacket but not too 'Apprenticey'. It's time to make like James Dean and get a flecked blazer.
While fashion may fall in and out of love with the flecked blazer, we can't recall times when, applied correctly, it's ever looked anything less than stylish (alright, the 1980s excepted).
By applied correctly we mean in a relatively slim fit without either cartoonishly large or small lapels or more than three buttons. If you avoid those then it's a fool proof way to dress up the plainest of outfits. Let us show you how.
How To Wear It
1 While you can wear red trousers like James Dean (top), we'd recommend something a little less 'look at me!' for a casual outfit.
2 Beige chinos work well, the only issue being that you might be bored of wearing your chinos everyday.
3 The safest bet is a pair of unwashed indigo denim. They don't have to be la-di-da Japanese denim, but a solid shade of blue is necessary.
4 Team it with a plain white shirt, brown oxfords (or loafers if you really want to look laid back) for an office and bar-ready outfit.
5 Now just pop on the blazer on top (Our Legacy, £333) and you'll be ready for anything the world throws at you. Looking this good has never been easier.
