If you're looking for some gentle ways to reintroduce corduroy into your wardrobe (it's nearly autumn after all) then look no further than The Talented Mr Ripley. While the film has more style tips than you can shake a blood-stained statue at, we'll focus on Matt Damon's corduroy blazer.
In the film he gets ridiculed for wearing it too often - probably deserved as it isn't best-suited to an Italian summer - but the outfit he has on is one of the best in the film. Not to mention one of the easier ones to copy - best to stay well away from pork pie hats and short shorts unless you've actually been making good use of your gym membership.
We're not suggesting you wear it exactly like Damon - awkwardly and a little oversized - but a sleeker version would do wonders. Try something like this Universal Works blazer (My-wardrobe, £149) instead. Just remember to channel the 'relaxing in Rome' feel as opposed to the 'off-duty farmer with business in town' feel.
