Of course, we're referring to the Jerry Lee Lewis original, not the remake. Having recently watched this again, we discovered that the professor in his socially awkward form was actually rather natty. His love for a bowtie (an item that has gone from maligned to loved and back to maligned) and a waistcoat creates a great look, especially when topped off with a cardigan. We've picked some pieces to help you achieve the look.
While finding a suitable look in brown is a rather hard task in this day and age, finding a navy waistcoat/trouser combo is still relatively easy.
We've gone with a navy waistcoat and trousers from American workwear brand Post Overalls, which should help keep the outfit from looking too stuffy. The white shirt is from APC, The Cardigan from Howlin' by Morrison, the Bow Tie is from Drakes and there's a pair of Grensons to finish off the look.
