You'd think we'd be used to American Fashion designer Thom Browne and his outlandish shows for Moncler Gamme Bleu - the high fashion offshoot of the Italian winter clothing brand - but you'd be wrong.
Past seasons have seen Moncler models march down the track of Milan's Velodrome and pose on the diving blocks of the city's olympic sized swimming pool. No one can criticise Browne of aesthetic inconsistency, as this season's collection was showcased in riding stables on the outskirts of Milan.
Deer stalkers, jodhpurs, quilted vests, shearling-lined coats and the brand's trademark puffa jackets were found in fabrics ranging from leather and tartan to houndstooth, tweed and wool. Marvelous stuff.
