All the usual suspects were present for Dolce & Gabbana's AW '11 show. Distressed denim came accompanied by velvet dinner jackets - modeled with testosterone-fueled gusto by a troop of super-tanned chaps (you can be sure that David Gandy was leading the way) - tight white vests came plastered to torsos and sicilian caps were dotted throughout.
The devil, they say, is in the detail, and this was certainly true of the super-brand's latest collection. Lapels came coated with distressed velvet, Prince of Wales check found its way onto pea coats and faux fur came bountifully applied to jackets - though it was the skinny grey pin stripe trousers, suspenders and slim white shirt combo that really caught our eye - was this a moment of sobriety in the theatrical world of Dolce & Gabbana?
The adaptable trend? As with previous seasons, stick with skinny tailoring. Double breasted cuts are strong (as they seem to be everywhere), oh and invest in a good velvet jacket. Though, you knew that already.
