Summer’s not here yet, but that doesn't mean you can't start preparing for the warmer months.
Surfing style usually conjures up images of board shorts and little else, but there’s more to it than that. Take M. Nii for example. M.Nii was originally a tailor shop in Hawaiiin the 1950s. Local surfers used to bring in their shorts for repairs, which led M. Nii to launch their own shorts that could with deal with the wear and tear of surfing.
Word spread, and soon surfers would come to Hawaii for the competitions and leave with several pairs. They’ve since left the repairs behind, and launched a full label.
Still making everything in the USA, M.Nii is known for their durability, wearability and their affordable prices. And now we’re able to purchase their wares on this side of the pond, as Shoreditch clothes store Anthem stocks their goods. While they do a good board short, their best products are (surprisingly) for the upper half of your body.
Their stand-out product is the Surf Club jacket, called so because it’s what the M.Nii staff used to wear on the job. They also do a great line of sweatshirts and tees, so there’s something for everyone. Wear these down to the local beach if you want to look like you can ride a wave (even though you absolutely can't).
