A day in the life of Wills' wardrobe

The press has been awash with speculation over Kate - or is that Catherine? -Middleton's style credentials. For some, she's the best thing since Princess Di, for others she hasn't moved on much since that "fateful fashion show" (The Daily Mail's words, not ours).

Regardless, we're more than a little perturbed that she's been getting all the attention, when her stylish - not to mention, royal - other half has been pushed to the sidelines.

No more. We're here to look back at some of Prince William's most memorable sartorial moments from the past few years. From black tie attire to deep blue engagement suits, we not only pay tribute to Wills' style, but show you how to achieve the look yourselves. Tally ho!

Country Casual

Morning Walk

He's an active guy, our Wills. He's so active, we imagine half of his wardrobe is dedicated to outdoor pursuits. Replace the oversized hunting coat with this slick pea jacket from Engineered Garments, further slim down the look with some fitted jeans from YMC and you'll be ready for a weekend in the country. We're also very keen on the flat cap - try the New York Hat Company for size.

Smart Lunch

Though he perhaps lacks the imagination of his father Prince Charles or his great great uncle the Duke of Windsor, Prince William pulls off the double breasted look with ease. This pale grey number is the ideal ensemble for a formal lunch engagement. Look to Zegna for some of this season's best double breasted cuts and team with some simple black lace-ups (we're big fans of Jil Sander's) to complete the look.

Engagement party

Afternoon Engagement Announcement

The fateful shot. High street reproductions of Kate's Issa dress have started whizzing off production lines, but it seems the same can't be said for Wills' suit. A beautifully cut single breasted number from Savile Row tailor Gieves & Hawkes in a shade of Duke blue, we've found a similar style at Paul Smith. Team with a simple brogue and follow William's lead by adding extra colour through the tie, not the shirt.

Evening wear

High Society Soiree

Moving into evening the only way to go is the tuxedo. This season the single breasted shawl collar is big news, but once again William breathes new life into the double breasted look. Ralph Lauren have produced an elegant version for AW '10, team with Mr Hare's understated take on the traditional patent shoe for a fresh take on the style.
