David Beckham has an awful lot to answer for. Once, it was only Lord B himself and a few over-groomed footballers who ruled the roost of "stylish" sports stars. These days, however, even the most manly of sportsmen are getting in on the act, and rugby players are no exception.
Last month French brand Eden Park signed a six year-long deal to dress the England rugby team, and this week Italian super-brand Moschino have announced a partnership with Italian club, Aironi. One of two clubs to have recently entered the Magners League championship, Aironi plays host to a bevy of international stars and the deal will no doubt mark the first in a series of similar partnerships.
The suit itself is refreshingly simple, given Moschino's somewhat avant-garde heritage. A grey single breasted suit constructed from heritage British fabric comes combined with a crisp white shirt, slim stripe tie, black oxfords and a black leather belt. Moschino's distinctive approach hasn't been entirely diluted however, both the shirt and jacket lining come embroidered with the brand's signature red heart. Only in Italy.
