Treading between two trends

Grenson, one of the best all-British shoe manufacturers around, has just announced a collaboration with Number Six, the London-based menswear boutique which resides on the Baltic side of cool.

The result? The "Hampstead" Gibson boot. Produced in the spiritual home of British footwear, Northampton exclusively for Number Six, the ludicrously hard-wearing boot (inspired by the American work style) comes constructed in brown Scotch grain calf, hand-burnished three times.

The boot also provides an understated means of working two of the season's biggest trends, thanks to the Hampstead's hiking boot-inspired aesthetic and the platform-esque vibram sole. Stone, two, birds, killed, one.
