Last summer I wrote about some shorts here. Both the Rubinacci and the Pakeman shorts are great (and Pakeman have added a tempting new pink since last summer), and I’m now able to add another shop to my list of approved suppliers.
Still full of admiration for the Gurkha, or cross over, waistband, which has military origins, I checked on Silverman’s website*, and struck gold. They sell re-productions of Sixties issue shorts for only £25 (over £100 less than Rubinacci’s version). While the shot on the website is a bit dodgy the reality, made of heavy sand-coloured twill, is glorious. I can’t recommend them enough, particularly to men with a taste for vintage style.
*Silverman’s is a big army surplus warehouse in East London with a very comprehensive website.
