Kiss kiss, bang bang

Few photographers can lay claim to having worked both for Vanity Fair and Loaded, but therein lies the dichotomy of John Stoddart's work: on the one hand his portfolio exhibits an aptitude for striking celebrity portraiture (past commissionees include everyone from Björk to the Blairs), on the other it reveals his ongoing fascination with all things carnal. But given the venue for his new exhibition is the attic space above a Coco de Mer boutique in South Kensington, it's not hard to guess where the focus of his latest work lies...

"Love and Lust" comprises two projects: the first is an exploration of the power of female seduction, the second a herpes-and-all glimpse into life on set in Britain's adult film industry. Though both provide some imaginatively provocative imagery, the latter proves the most intriguing  (not least because we now know who buys those ivory three-piece suites in the DFS commercials).
