The chino is an established staple. So it's time to treat it like a coat. What do we mean? it's time to get different versions for different seasons. And what you need right now is a heavyweight chino.
It's very tempting to wear the same chinos all year round - you've probably been doing just that. And while it's suitable for a year or two, it's really no way to treat your chinos.
Firstly, it'll wear them out quicker (and a hole in the crotch is never stylish) and secondly, you'll be bloody freezing come winter time. And while denim is repairable (and arguably looks better with some wear and tear) it's a different story for chinos.
The solution is a pair of heavy duty chinos. Luckily, Denmark's Norse Projects are a brand who know a thing or two about keeping warm in winter.
Their Aros chinos (Goodhood, £104) are built for the frosty months of the year, being made from a heavier duty cotton than their summer based counterparts. Another plus point is that you get to avoid the indignity that is long johns. It's the little victories.
