Not for the first time, Prada’s spring/summer men’s show was heavy on atmosphere, as well as ideas.
Steamy, sexy, sub-tropical, the show put its audience in mind of Vietnam, Pearl Harbor and any movie that might fall into the “trouble in paradise” category, with the designer saying she wanted to question the “cliche of the exotic – and the cliche of summer.”
Most eye-catching were the Hawaiian prints on T-shirts, girl’s dresses, bags and, of course, shirts. If Thomas Magnum had ever had a thought in his head, he might have worn one of these.
Meanwhile, Gucci’s floral prints had a more European vibe, while Tommy Hilfiger’s prints found their way onto everything from shirts to swimming trunks. Here's our pick of the brightest and best.
