1 The Bum Bag
Yes, the humble tourist 'fanny pack' is all-set for a comeback. This time round it's leather and canvas, in satchel-style or as a smaller version of the ubiquitous fisherman's bag. This accessory looks likely to converge the wallet and male messenger bag for the remainder of the year, so watch this space for a buying guide soon.
2 Socks and Sandals
Once the preserve of off-duty vicars and elderly geography teachers, the humble sandal was the talk - and walk - of the fashion shows last year. Wear it with a crisp white ankle sock, or just below the knee (available at American Apparel) if you're feeling brave.
3 The Shower Cap
This one started in LA after Snoop Doggy Dogg fans began wearing them during last year's festival season. Now making its way through the hip-hop influencers of East London, with Bathing Ape rumoured to be considering a line.
4 The Sleeveless Shirt
Long sleeves are too warm for summer. Short-sleeves make you look like a Currys store manager. The compromise? No sleeves at all. Only to be advised if you've been hitting the gym since January.
5 The Toupee
Perhaps most surprisingly, the much-maligned 'rug' or 'syrup' has been spotted on catwalks from Paris to New York since the end of 2013 but only now is it getting some hair-time, so to speak. And get this - you don't even need to be bald to wear one. Die-hard fashionistas are opting for the self-knowing nod of irony by slipping on a chosen hairpiece on top of their own.
