A birthday exhibition by Hermès charts its lust for leather through the years.
This year, Hermès, the leather goods company that started life as a horse harness manufacturer, is celebrating its 175th birthday with an exhibition in London’s Mayfair. It will feature a carefully curated selection of iconic pieces old and new.
A highlight will no doubt be a typically stylish black calf skin-bound blotter commissioned by the Duke of Windsor for Wallis Simpson, alongside more recent creations such as these butter-soft agenda notebooks, which are available in stores now, should you want to document a few history-changing pensées of your own.
The Hermès 'Leather Forever' Exhibition is on now and runs until 27th May at 6 Burlington Gardens, London W1S 3ET
