Originally founded in the Seventies, Kings Road establishment Jean Machine was best known for kitting out London’s cool kids in properly fitted, unfussy jeans. Following a three-decade hiatus, the British brand has now reappeared and its 21st century jeans are as brilliantly straightforward as before; cut from high-quality Japanese and Italian fabrics in three basic styles (slim, straight and relaxed) and finished in a small range of washes. Fans of French label APC’s superbly simple denim should be excited. (£155, thejeanmachine.co.uk) Photograph by Lisa Gee
