Hedi Slimane, the Belgian creative and image director of Saint Laurent - also know as the man behind that leather jacket you've always wanted - has left the brand after nearly four years.

Widely credited with the revival of rockstar/heroin chic - the designer reinvigorated the Parisian house transforming it into a major global player once again, with the brand recording profits of nearly £800m in 2015.

The designer's love of all things alt became his calling card during his second stint with the label, with staples including cigarette-skinny jeans, suede Chelsea boots and outlandish jewellery

Saint Laurent hasn't announced a successor as yet, but there will certainly be some big Cuban-heeled boots to fill for whoever does take his place.
