The day is finally here, with Tim Cook and his band of Apple consigliere set to wax lyrical at the launch of the iPhone 7 and potentially kill the headphone jack.

And just in case you were worried the company was set to surprise everybody and not launch a new flagship phone, it appears as if the first confirmation has accidentally been leaked through Apple's own website.

The slip-up was noticed by Reddit user Jasper Greenham, who was browsing the accessories section of the Hong Kong Apple Store (as you do) and noticed on the sidebar that both the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus were already listed.

While we've fished through countless rumours and leaks over the last few months, finding something via the actual store feels as legit as it gets.

So, assuming it hasn't been Photoshopped, this would be the first confirmation from Apple that the new phones will be called the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.

That's right, so the rumoured 'Pro' model, which purportedly would feature a dual-lens camera and Smart Connector capabilities, appears to be the stuff of myth and legend.

We'll find out for sure from 6pm this evening, though whether the Hong Kong website admin will still have his job before then remains to be seen.
