Considering most mobiles we carry these days have staggering processing power, it shouldn’t be surprising to find Motorola attempting to meld the portability of a smartphone with the functionality of a PC.

Dual-core processors have made this possible, and the Atrix boasts a 1Ghz version. The 11.6in “lapdock” comes with full keyboard, trackpad and stereo speakers — so, hey presto, instant computer.

But the Atrix’s most impressive gimmick is the fingerprint scanner for unlocking the device. Not quite Mission: Impossible territory yet, but pub bragging rights are assured.
