The ‘zine. Journo-lite, or the future of print? Whatever your view, mini-mags and fanzines are here to stay, and it can only be a good thing, given the rising dominion of digital (says this online publication).

The latest 'zine to catch our eye, A Tale of Three Cities, is to launch in May. Currently little more than a – rather accomplished – website, TOT will be the first printed arts journal to include content written by residents of Europe's three creative capitals: London, Paris and Berlin.

The idea first came about when three friends, originally from the UK, made the decision to settle in the different European capitals. Seeing the three cities as both comrades and counterpoles, the three editors have taken the relationship between the metropols as the focus of their collective attention.

Contributors thus far include Alain Fournier prize-winning French author Veronique Olmi and Brit Award nominated songwriter Fyfe Dangerfield, as well as a host of young photographers and up-and-coming writers. A Tale of Three Cities is currently scouring the continent for contributors, so watch this space for more.
