It's been a stellar year for FPS games (yesterday, Call of Duty: Black Ops passed the $1 billion sales mark), so all credit to EA offshoot DICE for serving up an end-of-year slice of online multiplayer excellence in the shape of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam.

A downloadable expansion pack for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, it promises five online multiplayer maps, six vehicles (including a tank, helicopter and gun boat) and 15 reliably badass weapons – including an almighty flamethrower.

The soundtrack is a reassuring pastiche of Oliver Stone movie classics – from Creedence Clearwater Revival to Jefferson Airplane and Wagner – and, naturally, you get to choose whether to side with Uncle Sam or the Viet Cong. Tốt lần*.

£9.99 or 1200 Microsoft Points. You'll need a copy of BFBC2 to play the Vietnam expansion pack. (* "Good times")
