Given it's stellar style credentials and the fact that if it was a person, it would definitely be too cool to be your friend, the revelation that Mayfair's Dover Street Market has jumped on the Christmas bandwagon is a surprising one.

Don't get us wrong, they've done it with trademark panache. Dotted around Comme Des Garçon's five-floor London base are a series of displays, showcasing DSM's specially commissioned Christmas items.

Comme's ever-innovative creative director Rei Kawakubo was inspired by performance artist group Assume Vicid Astro Focus (avaf) to create the Uber-cool and eye wateringly expensive collection. Featuring colourful resin jewellery by Thai designer Ek Thongprasert, a men's heavy metal chain necklace from Florian of Austria, a lego block ornament from New York’s Nathan Sawaya and a series of Comme regulars, such as polka dot teddies and one-zip wallets, the pieces are not for the faint hearted.

Each item from the aptly titled "Merry Happy Crazy Colour" comes complete with a hang tag featuring avaf's high-colour work, and comes wrapped in a carrier bag which could come in pink, blue or yellow, depending on your luck.
