For a man who once alloted each of us 15 minutes of fame, Andy Warhol’s own legacy has proven far more robust. Illustrator, film-maker and epicentre of the pop-art movement, Warhol’s significance was reaffirmed back in 2009 when his painting "Eight Elvises" was sold to a private collector for a cool £100 mill.

Now, some 23 years since his death, Dom Pérignon pay tribute to Warhol’s legacy with a limited edition run of pop art design champagne bottles containing their new 2002 Vintage. With "hints of fresh almond and harvest aromas" and "just a subtle, elegant hint of underlying bitterness" (according to Dom Pérignon chef de cave Richard Geoffroy) the champagne will be available from mid-October to those quick enough to snap it up from Harrods, Harvey Nichols or Selfridges.

The bottles have been specially created by Central Saint Martin’s Design Laboratory (Warhol would doubtless approve), making this a decadent treat for those wishing to inject a little Studio 54 glamour into their lives.
