Erik Kessels, the brain behind Dutch communications agency KesselsKramer, is best known for his impressive client list - think Heineken, Nike and Diesel - but it's the entrepreneur's extra-curricular creative projects which continue to catch our eye (his “In Almost very Picture" series of books is a work of outlandish genius).
A few years back, Kessels ventured out of his Amsterdam base to open a London outpost. The KK Outlet on Hoxton Square has hosted several well-received exhibitions over its short life, and the latest venture – a swap shop between the KK Outlet and legendary Parisian boutique colette - makes a welcome addition to the back-catalogue.
From today, KK Outlet will play host to a series of handpicked artworks from colette which will be displayed in the space for the extent of the summer. Curios on show include customised surfboards and silkscreens from graffiti artist Monsieur Andre, illustrated blog posts from Darcel and delicate watercolours from painter Irina Dakeva.
Running in tandem with the exhibition, the team at colette have also cherry-picked a selection of signature products to put up for sale, so look out for ”the coolest fold-up bike ever created, impossible to find book titles and products you never knew you needed, never mind wanted.” Sold.
