British artist Bruce Munro's latest installation was unveiled in a Wiltshire field this week. If ever there was a surer sign of the demise of the compact disc, we're yet to see it.

Constructed from 600,000 salvaged compact discs, "CDSea" follows Munro's "Field of Light" project, which propelled the artist and recycling advocate to prominence in 2005, and is the first in a series of installations planned for Long Knoll field. With the potential to blind at high sunlight, visiting is recommended at sunrise or sunset when the sea of CDs emits an eerie blue haze across the landscape. Wonderful stuff.

CDSea is now on display in Long Knoll Field, Wiltshire. See www.cdsea.co.uk for more.
