With the iPad finally going on sale in a little over 24 hours, you might be wondering if there's enough worthwhile content at launch to justify dipping your toe into early-adopter territory. If the Marvel Comics iPad app is anything to go by, the answer is yes.

It's not just the nearly-life-size screen dimensions that make it perfectly suited to the iconic publisher's superhero fables, or that you can archive all your purchases in one place, or even the fact the backlit screen makes Marvel's colorful, kick-ass characters all the more vivid.

Its biggest draw (apologies) is the intuitive way it scrolls from cell to cell via a customary finger-swipe. It's a bit like the opening credits of Grange Hill - and that, surely, can only be a good thing.
