A Facebook campaign to get Brian Blessed’s voice on Sat Nav has been supported by over 13,000 people with TomTom agreeing to start talks with the great bearded one if 25,000 supporters sign up. Here's a top five of the voices we’d like to hear telling us to turn right, left or keep straight ahead...

Don LaFontaine (AKA "Thunder Throat". "The Voice of God" and "The Movie Trailer Guy"): The late voice artist has one of the most instantly recognizable voices in Hollywood and would definitely add a more dramatic edge to the daily commute. "In a woorrrld where there is no right turrrrrrrrn..."

Stephen Hawking: Able to calculate the quickest, most efficient routes through space and time, the applied mathematician and theoretical scientist delivers directions that guarantee to avoid both traffic black spots and black holes. Rush hour need never be a problem again.

Mariella Frostrup: The Norwegian-born TV presenter was once voted the sexiest female voice on TV. Frostrup would be the ideal candidate to liven up the drudgeries of a cold Monday morning, purring the directions in her famous husky tones: "Take a hard left..."

Dale Winton: Looking for a camp edge to your travels? Look no further than the orange king of the game show. Promising journeys full of innuendo and high drama, he's especially good at crossroads: "Well, you could go left or right, the choice is yours! Left? Excellent! Let's see where you could have gone!"

Brian Sewell: Everyone’s favourite art critic and general font of knowledge, Sewell has possibly the most polished diction known to man. Imagine not only arriving at your destination but being educated along the way: "And now as we pass the house of the great Lord Fitzwilliam notice the sumptuous rococo detail of the building's facade ..." Jordan Waller
