‘Electric’ and ‘scooter’ are two words which, under normal circumstances, we would hope never to find within scribbling distance of each other.

The latest creation from British entrepreneur James South however, the Econogo Yogo, marks the motorbike industry’s most innovative development of the past few years. Channelling the retro spirit of its cocksure Italian counterparts, the Yogo is available in the electronic equivalent of both 50 cc and 100 cc, and can reach a top speed of 38mph.

Ok, so you won’t go breaking the sound barrier, but thanks to the Yogo's 'bespoke design elements' you won’t look like a complete tool either, and, what’s more, you’ll be doing the planet some good. In times when ‘responsibility’ is the latest buzz word, (thanks again Cameregg, or was it Cleggeron..?) the Yogo is the only two wheeler on which to be seen.

The key selling point however, is that the Yogo’s battery takes only an hour to charge, lasts for around 22 miles and you need never shell out a grand for a tank of petrol ever again. Tempted? Both models are now on sale for a mere £1,999.

The Econogo Yogo and Yogo S are both available online. Prices start at £1,999.
