While we’re not convinced that Summerhouse is a pop up restaurant in the true sense of the word (though the odd bit of marketing spin never hurt anyone) there’s no denying it’s a great place to while away a summer’s evening. Perched on the canal in Little Venice, Maida Vale, it’s modelled on a Hamptons Beach House.

Thankfully on Esquire’s visit the place was relatively free of hedgies barking into BlackBerry’s or newly minted hip-hop royalty spraying magnums of Cristal over everyone. Instead a mixed crowd of randoms, meeja and the odd area sleb tucked into the seafood treats such as New England Clam Chowder and swordfish steaks. We particularly liked our fish and chips (it was chilly!) and  margherita cocktails which came swiftly and salty in the right measure. There are already plans to turn it into a mountain style chalet come October.
