Wired for sound

We’ve lost count of the times someone’s barged past us on the underground ripping the trailing headphone wires out of our ears and sending a rubber earpiece tumbling onto the floor of an overcrowded tube carriage. Bending down to try and find it would only cause Arab Israeli levels of hatred directed at us so we stand and stew, newly musicless.

Which is a rather long introduction to us explaining why we love this new thing called the Magneat, the brainchild of clever Icelandic design company Preggioni.

It’s basically a tiny yoyo split into two parts that fit together magnetically. You wind your headphone wires round the yoyo bit thus keeping them tidy and tangle free, then attach the front and back bits together through your clothing so there’s no annoying pin hole in your Prada.

There’s a whole load of different designs (some of them a bit young and skatery we admit) but enough in plainer colours to accessorise - or at least not clash with whatever your wearing. Neat idea. Someone should get them to turn their attention to their economy next. www.magneat.com
