Introducing Woodbuds, superior and original headphones on an environmental mission.

One doesn't usually equate audio equipment with eco-activism, but Woodbuds bucks the trend.

Launched by two environmentally-conscious Yorkshiremen, the headphones are carved from sustainable plantation hardwood and come in 100% recyclable packaging - even the cables are made from renewable bio-plastic.

As co-founder Chris Holmes says, "Woodbuds was born from a passion to do something good, take a new approach, build a brand, and think differently. We now work alongside the Woodland Trust, to plant and protect our native woodland. So for every 100 products we sell we plant a tree. It's that simple."

Thankfully, though made of wood, the headphones aren't manufactured to an Airfix-style D.I.Y standard. The hardwood  is well-crafted and absorbs bass, with an audiophile-friendly frequency response of 20 - 20,000Hz and a gold plated 3.5mm connector.

Available in five colours, Woodbuds not only look good, they also deliver a solid (and, thankfully, splinter-free) audio experience.
