Fernandez & Wells are forming something of a Soho dynasty in a grid formation around our offices, each of the three branches doing things a little bit different from the last. We've accepted there's now pretty much no escape.

The latest opening in St Anne's Court offers smaller - and, at £3.50, more affordable - ciabattas than we're used to, but with the accent still on fail-safe fillings (serrano ham, grilled chorizo, buffalo mozarella and the like). Our current pick though might just be these open sandwiches - a St Anne's Court exclusive. The white bean and anchovy with garlic, parsley and lemon on a slice of rye bread just holds off stiff opposition from the aubergine and feta - the mushroom and garlic version is still on our list to try. A bargain at £2.50 and you might even be able to convince yourself they're healthy. Fernandez & Wells16A St Anne’s Court, London W1
