The new Jaguar F-Type made its full public debut in Paris last night, complete with a 'Lana Del Ray on bonnet' shot, ahead of its unveiling at the Salon de l'Automobile de Paris (that's the Paris Motor Show) this weekend.

What we know already is that the F-Type is being billed as the modern-day heir to the ultra-iconic E-Type.

An all-aluminium, front-engined, rear-wheel drive convertible, it will come in three models - F-TYPE, F-TYPE S and the F-TYPE V8 S. These will be powered respectively by Jaguar’s new 3.0-litre V6 supercharged petrol engine and its 5.0-litre V8 supercharged petrol engine.

The range-topping F-TYPE V8S will reach 60mph in 4.2 seconds and has a top speed of 186mph.

Everything looks well set to put Jaguar back on the world map as a producer of sports cars that tick all the boxes.

On sale next summer, prices expected to be from £50,000
