Since its founding in 1913 in Gaydon, Warwickshire, Aston Martin has produced legendary and desirable sports cars. Now, in its centenary year, the company’s facelifted four-door Rapide S demonstrates how far it has come.

From its beautiful proportions to the 20in wheels to the full-grain leather interior and the Bang & Olufsen Beosound audio kit, the new Rapide is as well-appointed a vehicle as you could ever hope to drive.

The hulking 6.0-litre V12 engine delivers Aston Martin’s trademark performance (0–62mph in 4.9 seconds). For those with ever more demanding tastes, the Rapide Luxe range offers a series of additional premium accessories, including a glass switchgear, twin-screen entertainment system and three choices of bespoke leather luggage sets. Oh, and it’s got four doors, so the kids can come, too. If any of James Bond’s babymamas ever catch up with him, this is what he’ll be driving…
