In today's take-a-moment-to-reflect-on-your-utter-insignificance news, NASA have released the first ever picture of earth from their Curiosity Rover which is currently trundling around Mars.

In the picture our home planet is nothing more than a speck of light in the looming sky, which, according to NASA, is what it would look like to us if we were standing there ourselves.

"A human observer with normal vision, if standing on Mars, could easily see Earth and the moon as two distinct, bright ‘evening stars’,” a spokesperson said.

The really mind-blowing point of course is that you, your house, everyone you know and everything you have ever seen in your life is also in this photograph.
