Stumping up big money for the latest 65in 4K Ultra HD Smart TV is all very well, but in your heart you know something better will be along in months. That’s how TV companies work. And here’s the thing: you can always opt out of the TV arms race. A projector is a great way of doing so.

Projectors have come a long way since being the medium of choice for wobbly 8mm home movies of the Sixties.

Now they offer HD, 3D - even 4K Ultra HD. You can super-size your holiday photos or watch live sport on a 100in screen, or whatever size your living room/partner allows. They’re also cheaper and more versatile than most TVs.
