Curious about the internal life of a prison? Not curious enough to commit a crime on purpose, Prison-Break style? Then photographer Patrick Simpson's work might be up your street.

Focusing on Angola prison in Lousiana, USA, Simpson shows a different side to what we remember from 'Oz'. Simpson picks out model inmates and looks at their work in the 'Hobby Craft' arts program (a course that includes taxidermy, furniture building, leather working and painting). The pieces of work are sold at the annual fair, splitting the profits between inmates families and prison administration.

While it's  a tad odd to see inmates serving life sentences building coffins, the images are interesting. And, if we're allowed to get all 'first year photography student', the pictures have an almost lyrical quality. Sorry.
