1 | The New Way To Call Your Mum

Back in 2009 WhatsApp revolutionised the way we message people by launching a text messaging system that wasn't a text messaging service. Now the company are planning to roll out their first voice-call add-on, which means you’ll be able to - wait for it - call and send messages from your phone.

It will, of course, be bigger than Miley Cyrus and users in India claim to have already gotten their hands on the updated app, as seen in the video above.

2 | The Keyboard Computer That’ll Take You Back To Gaming In The 80s

If you don’t know the joys of playing Flimbo’s Quest on a bashed up Commodore 64, we feel for you. For those of you born after the late Eighties, the old ’64 was a gaming console that contained all of its processors inside a keyboard-like exterior you linked up to any monitor you happened to have to hand.

Now, in 2015, a Chinese company, ‘Beijing-Cool Computer Co’ has released its own take on a keyboard-based computer, with the ‘OneBoard Pro+’. Much more advanced than a Commodore 64, the Pro+ is secretly a quad-core Android PC under the guise of something much simpler. Not only does it promise a lot of power (16GB of storage, Bluetooth 4.0 capabilities) in a small package, it also looks great (and retro) with an aluminum case and backlit keys. No word if Flimbo's Quest comes as an extra.

3 | The Device That Knows Exactly How You Like Your Coffee (And Gets Your Name Right Too)

If there are two things that make the world go round, it’s coffee and WiFi. Until now, the two haven’t got on very well. Try getting online in Starbucks, or spilling your vente caramel macchiato on your home hub and you’ll see what we mean. The ‘Smarter Coffee’ machine from Firebox wants to change this, with a device that brews java from the bean to your cup with just a few taps of your smartphone or tablet.

Allowing you to brew up to 12 cups at once, the machine has ‘Welcome Home’ and ‘Wake Up’ modes and can be pre-programmed to enusre you always have a flat white to hand exactly when you need it, and without the fuss of having to make it and clean up yourself. Best of all, the ‘Smarter Coffee’ promises not to charge you the best part of £5 per cup.

Ski season is upon us and the slopes are awash with a gaggle of brightly-attired ‘sliding-down-a-hill-quite-quickly’ enthusiasts. To stand out from the crowd (and get a tech advantage), you need the new CHIPS Universal Bluetooth Wireless Ski Helmet.

Not only does it look great in understated black, but it lets you link up to your smartphone (allowing you to control calls and music with a tap of the helmet) and packs a ten hour battery charge. Plus, of course, it’ll keep your head safe, should you fall foul of that black run.
